I've noticed some issues lately with edits that I think are due in part to people editing to badge collect (in a way that is massively encouraging quantity over quality), and seeing as I'm both the most (only?) consistently active admin and I have a job and other things that take away my time from being an admin, I've decided to disable the Achievements extension to try to nip problems in the bud.

This matter is not up for discussion at present as it's a community management issue. (Though I'll wait about 10 minutes after putting it up and making it an announcement in case there's some major issue with disabling it I haven't thought of. Or if any other admins hanging around think I've lost my marbles and convince me to stop.) It may be a day or two before the extension is disabled because the switch is no longer in WikiFeatures so I have to go through staff. The extension is disabled as of 17:24, February 12, 2019 (UTC).

What does this mean?

Those little badges and points on your userpage? Those are going away.

Will I lose my points?

If the extension is ever reenabled (by me or someone else), you pick up right where you left off.

I have no reason to edit now!

Sure you do. Quality over quantity, my guy. Wikis: Where it's all made up and the points don't matter!

I have every reason to edit now!

Cool! Quality over quantity, my guy.

Will it ever come back?

I don't know. We'll see.
